Quirky Birds – Clay Sculpture Workshop with Sara Piper Heap. Sat 29th June

Saturday 29th June. 10am to 4pm

Crows, magpies, jackdaws, kingfishers, pelicans! whomever you prefer, come and get to grips with the hand-building techniques needed to create your very own quirky bird sculpture – the jaunty hat is your choice!

You will learn various hand-building techniques such as slab and coil building, pinch pots, creating texture and using formers. Do wear clothes which you don’t mind getting dusty and/or bring an apron.  Sara will provide all of the tools and equipment you need, and will guide you steadily, step-by step, to create your sculpture.  No previous experience is required and if you’re not sure about making your own design, feel free to use one of Sara’s.

Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.  You are welcome to join Sara for lunch in the gallery café otherwise feel free to bring your own.

After the workshop, your sculpture will be fired and returned to the Willow ready for collection.
