If you would like to learn something new or want to refresh or expand your skills, we run an engaging programme of art and craft classes taught by expert tutors.

All our workshops are designed for beginners, materials are provided for some workshops and others students will be required to bring materials. Please refer to each individual workshop for more information and our Workshop Welcome Letter

Mosaic Workshop with Lindsey Kennedy

Saturday 6th April 2024, 10am to 4pm
10 Places Available

£85 for the day including materials

Come and immerse yourself in the lovely craft of mosaic-making. This workshop will introduce you to a wide range of glass materials, simple tools and techniques to achieve a fabulous small mosaic. You will have the opportunity to experiment with hands-on experience of glass cutting and designing directly with the materials, no need for any drawn designs or prior experience. There will be time to grout and finish your mosaic. All materials are provided.

As we will be working with glass please ensure you wear covered shoes and bring an apron as grouting can be messy.




Landscape in Acrylics with Mark Warner

Saturday 1st  June 2024, 10am – 4pm
10 Places Available

£70 for the day including materials

The idea of this workshop is to experiment with colour mixing to create a sense of depth within a rolling landscape.

Mark will demonstrate and take you through producing a landscape in acrylics, looking at the importance of tone and values within the composition.

Materials required:

*A stretched canvas, canvas board or primed wooden board. No smaller than A2 (42 x 59cm)
*A standing easel or desktop easel. There will be a limited number of standing easels available if you need one.
*Acrylic paints…
White, cerulean blue, Prussian blue, ultramarine, naples yellow, burnt umber, hookers green, a light green, sap green, cad yellow, cad red, crimson plus any other colours if you have them. Heavy body paints are best.
*Synthetic brushes. One flat-ended(16/18), one rigger (2) brush is required. Please bring whatever brushes you have too.
*A palette knife.
*Mixing palette (tear-off is good) and a water container.
*2B pencil and eraser.
*Mark will supply a reference image that you can either put on an ipad/tablet or print off no smaller than A4.

Unless otherwise stated, all workshops must be paid in full at the time of booking.

No refunds can be given for cancellation within 7 days of the workshop start date or non-attendance, however you are free to send someone in your place. In this instance, please register the participant’s name and contact details in advance with Willow Gallery.

Willow Gallery reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the programme or cancel / postpone workshops if there are insufficient numbers, or for any other reason.
