Printmaking Without A Press
Tutor Sally-Ann Davies
January Sunday 19th 2020, 10am to 4pm
Workshop Purpose – to assist artists to learn the process of monoprinting using a homemade gelli plate. Students will learn how to layer colours and textures to create original handmade prints without a printing press. This is an inexpensive way to enjoy printmaking, suitable for all artists, no prior experience needed.
Sally- Ann Davies, “I have a passion for printmaking and specialise in a combination of printmaking techniques, however, monoprinting is one of my favourites. I will demonstrate and lead you step by step in how to create original layered monoprints. This technique is a great introduction into the fabulous world of printmaking. Come along and have some fun.”
‘I have a B A Hons in Fine Art from Liverpool John Moore’s University and have been teaching Art in England and the New Zealand for the last 20 years. As well as being a teacher I regularly exhibit and sell my artwork through out New Zealand and in the UK.
I look forward to seeing you on my monoprinting workshop, while I am in the UK for a short visit.
Equipment – I will provide printing paper, acrylic paints and the gelli plates (which you can keep). I will also provide a recipe so you can create more plates at home. Please bring different textures to print e.g. leaves, stencils, feathers, bubble wrap, cardboard, wallpaper etc. You are welcome to bring your own acrylic paints. If you have your own brayers (rollers) that would be helpful.
