“Alison Holt is a textile artist based in Shropshire with a fine art textiles degree from Goldsmiths College London

She draws directly onto her silk paintings using a basic sewing machine to create richly detailed textured studies of landscapes.

Influenced by the work of Stanley Spencer and David Hockney Alisons art reflects her fascination with pattern, light and colour in the natural world, she aims to capture a moment and a memory.

Alison has exhibited widely in the UK, Australia, NZ and Europe, including the Mall Galleries London with various Royal Societies where she won the Charles Pears Award.”
