£80, students will need to bring some materials.

This workshop will guide students through two landscape paintings: one on paper and one on panel. In doing so, we will look at composition, the layering of acrylics, collage and other media, and explore mark-making and basic print-making techniques, to create exciting textural landscapes.

Materials

Participants will need to bring the following:

Basic set of acrylic paints, to include at least a large tube of white, plus tubes of black/Payne’s grey, and at least one blue, red and yellow

Whatever brushes, palette knives etc. you use to apply paint

A palette

Pencil – preferably 4B

Optional: sketchbook or notebook

Optional: drawing board, craft knife, oil pastels, any other kit you like to use

 

I will provide all other materials, including the following:

Reference images

Sketching paper for composition work / thumbnail sketches

Cartridge paper for trial mark-making and printmaking

Mixed media paper for landscape painting

Panel for landscape painting

All mark-making and print-making materials, collage papers etc.
